The marine telephone hood has been designed specifically for installation in hazardous or arduous areas and as such is totally robust and environment proof. This is reflected in both its manner of construction and the materials used. Typical applications are the offshore and onshore petrochemical industries, the power and construction industries and many more.\n\nThe hood is extremely robust, being manufactured in two separate halves from a class 1 polyester resin reinforced with glass fibres.\n\nThe two halves are bonded and held together with stainless steel rivets. This method of construction means that this model is particularly suitable for wall or post mounting outside in a hostile marine environment. Within a sandwich of the fibreglass in the rear half is a MDF board support that allows telephones up to 20kgs to be mounted.\n\nNOTE: An extra plate can be purchased to increase mounting to 100kg.

The 2m galvanised post provides a secure post mount option for Telephone Hoods. The post can be anchored to any solid flat surface; there are 4 x 14mm fixing holes in the base plate that is welded to the bottom of the post. \n\nThe Hood is securely fixed to the post at the required fixing height by means of the post fixing kit. (sold separately) \n\nCable entry is up through the centre of the base plate and 30mm access holes are found at 860mm and at 1200mm to feed the phone fitted in the hood, also there is a 30mm hole 50mm down from the top of the post, this can be used to feed a beacon or sounder if required.

For external or internal use, this hood is designed to attain a high level of noise reduction up to 23dB. Manufactured using general-purpose resin material to BS476 Class 1 fire regulation, the hood is extremely robust and weatherproof. Inside the hood’s outer shell is a perforated polypropylene lining that houses 50mm non-hygroscopic acoustic insulation.\n\nFitted to the inner back wall is a stainless steel apparatus plate (optional sizes); beneath this plate is a detachable GRP shelf (165mm deep) with easy cable entry. The hood is fixed to the wall via two galvanised brackets that are secured through the hood’s back panel enabling a load of up to 60 kgs to be safely mounted.\n\nApplications: Noise reduction of 23dB indoor or outdoor industrial environments with GAI-Tronics telephones or Page/Party®.
